The department was started in 1973 and since then it has grown to be one of the major neurology centers of excellence in the state. 24/7 Hour Emergency stroke and Neurology critical care services for epileptics status, convulsions, loss of consciousness, severe headache, migraine and inflammation of the nervous system.

Offer comprehensive stroke management programs including stroke prevention, treatment programs for acute stoke patients, stroke patient education, screening, acute and secondary prevention therapies, intravenous and intra-arterial thrombolytic therapies etc. We have a multi-disciplinary team with competent stroke neurologists and highly specialized professional staff at our stroke unit to provide accurate stroke diagnosis and state-of-the-art stroke treatment. The department has a well-equipped ICU to deal with all neurological emergencies.  ICU is equipped with neurology experts, well-trained medical and technical staff, infusion pumps, Intracranial pressure monitoring devices, bed side monitors and critical care ventilators.
